Idiot BMW driver on Turnpike

This morning on the way to work I saw a guy driving a BMW 330i. He looked like what I call the typical BMW driver. Self centered, drives like a jackass, thinks he’s the most important person on the road at the time.

We were on the turnpike and we were in and out of construction zones the entire time which was about 30 minutes. The guy was originally behind me when we went through the toll booth. For the entire time we were on the on-ramp he was within about 2 feet of my rear bumper. Asshole. So when we finally get on to the turnpike, we’re in a construction zone. All trucks are supposed to use the left lane because the right lane is the shoulder. This jackass goes flying around me and cuts in front of a big rig and then has to hit the brakes because there is another rig in front of him. What a fucking idiot. He then weaves back into the right lane and is only 3 cars ahead of me. At different times during our turnpike trip, he would weave in and out of cars to get ahead. It was funny when I would slowly come back up on him and then pass him. This is with me using cruise control most of the time on the turnpike. We both got off at the same exit. He was 3 cars ahead of me when we went through the toll booths again. He also sped up to the toll booths at about 50 and then came to a sudden stop to allow it to read his EasyPass. When I finally got up to the booth I could smell brakes; the smell of when you overheat your brake pads.

So I was relaxed and drove safely for the entire trip on the turnpike. This guy seemed frustrated and expended a lot of effort to get ahead. In the end he was only a few cars in front of me. I can’t believe idiots like this guy don’t realize it’s not worth it. He endangered the lives of other people along with his own (and the two people in the car with him) for a couple hundred feet of pavement. What a total fucking moron.

Love my job

I’m thankful to have a job that I love. I seriously am. I don’t take it for granted one day. I work for as an IT guy for an NFL team and it’s the best job I’ve ever had. Some days you work hard but you also get to play hard. It is the first job I’ve ever had that I sometimes don’t want to take a vacation day from because I have that much fun at work. I love what I do. I actually get paid to do my hobby. I’m not usually one to toot my own horn but I’m very good at what I do and I will keep it that way.

Right now I’m sitting at home and thinking that I’m off tomorrow and actually wondering if I should just go in to work instead. I know I sounds crazy but I like my job that much. Not many people can say that.

I’m thankful to God for all that He’s given me.

Why I Carry a Gun!

This has been sent to me a couple times and I do not know the true author of this. I feel it is worth passing along!

Why Carry a Gun?

My old grandpa said to me ‘Son, there comes a time in every man’s life when he stops bustin’ knuckles and starts bustin’ caps and usually it’s when he becomes too old to take an ass whoopin’.

I don’t carry a gun to kill people.
I carry a gun to keep from being killed.

I don’t carry a gun to scare people.
I carry a gun because sometimes this world can be a scary place.

I don’t carry a gun because I’m paranoid.
I carry a gun because there are real threats in the world.

I don’t carry a gun because I’m evil.
I carry a gun because I have lived long enough to see the evil in the world.

I don’t carry a gun because I hate the government.
I carry a gun because I understand the limitations of government.

I don’t carry a gun because I’m angry.
I carry a gun so that I don’t have to spend the rest of my life hating myself for failing to be prepared.

I don’t carry a gun because I want to shoot someone.
I carry a gun because I want to die at a ripe old age in my bed, and not on a sidewalk somewhere tomorrow afternoon.

I don’t carry a gun because I’m a cowboy.
I carry a gun because, when I die and go to heaven, I want to be a cowboy.

I don’t carry a gun to make me feel like a man.
I carry a gun because men know how to take care of themselves and the ones they love.

I don’t carry a gun because I feel inadequate.
I carry a gun because unarmed and facing three armed thugs, I am inadequate.

I don’t carry a gun because I love it.
I carry a gun because I love life and the people who make it meaningful to me.

Police protection is an oxymoron.
Free citizens must protect themselves.
Police do not protect you from crime, they usually just investigate the crime after it happens and then call someone in to clean up the mess.

Personally, I carry a gun because I’m too young to die and too old to take an ass whoopin’.

People living near highway complaining

Problem (not really):

One story of hundreds like this…: http://www.newsnet5.com/news/18361506/detail.html

If you don’t like road noise don’t buy a house next to a busy road.  It’s really that easy.  Yeah….really it is!!!!

Getting cold out already…

Well It’s now 12:35am on Monday morning and I just went outside to see how it is out.  It’s about 32 degrees outside and just beautiful.  You can see your breath, and everything is just crisp and clear out.  The moon and the stars are out.  It’s beautiful.

I just love Fall and Winter.  I guess even though sometimes I complain about Ohio, I would probably be upset living some place that didn’t have all four seasons.  I love them all, but fall and winter are my favorites.

Bonus…I’m off work tomorrow. 🙂  Yippie!

Stray or lost cat – Cuyahoga Falls

This post is a little different from the rest.  In the last week maybe I’ve had this cat showing up on my back porch 2 or 3 times a day.  We put a bowl of food and water out because I just cannot let an animal go hungry.  Its fur feels like an inside cat not one that has been outside a while.  This is what leads me to believe that the cat got out or is lost.  We currently have 3 cats or I would take this one in.  Of the cats we have 2 of them we took in from outside.  We sometimes will put a collar on a cat that says “If I am your cat, please call….” and then put our phone number on it.  That way if it goes home at night people see it.  Nobody ever called the first time we did this.  Now I cannot find the collar and I’m afraid to put one on it because I think it will think that our house is now “home”. 🙂  I know that the cat is a female as it has nipples.  It also has claws on all 4 feet (this is good as declawing is horrible).  It’s really friendly and purrs a lot.  It is a really beautiful cat.  She has spent parts of certain days lying on our backyard sidewalk in the sun.  She seems like she has been taken care of.  I just don’t want her to get mistreated or hit by a car.

Anyway, if you know anything about this cat, or lost it or anything please contact me or leave a comment or something.  Please help if you can.

I really wish people would understand that inside cats live longer healthier lives and keep their cats inside.

And no, I can’t take it to the local humane society.  They are full right now.  Really full.

If you’re an asshole who likes to be rude or mean to animals don’t even bother to comment or contact me.  Don’t be a dick.

Here are some pictures.

Rain, Tornados, Life, Knives, and other stuff…

Well it’s been raining for a few days pretty hard.  We’ve had thunderstorms both yesterday and today.  I like them, but it sorta makes it so I cannot mow the lawn. 🙂 I guess that’s ok some weekends.  I’m just thankful that we don’t get flooding here since I live in the highest point in Ohio (Summit County).

I’ve been away from my blog for a while and need to get back into the swing of things and start posting regularly again.

I always seem to worry about my daughter getting sick or throwing up and stuff.  Especially since it’s been a while since she’s been sick.  I always think “Oh boy, she’s probably due to get sick soon”.  I hate that I think like that and I need/want to stop it.

Friday I got to go to a Microsoft Project 2003 class that was paid for by my employer and since I’m salary I also get paid for attending the class. 🙂 It was a pretty good class.  I didn’t think it would be but I actually learned a lot and I need it for work because we have to start doing all our project plans for network and server stuff in Project 2003 and/or Project 2007.

Right now we have a Tornado Warning going on and there is a huge rotating air horn on top of about a 75 foot pole and it’s right across the street from my house.  You can hear the thing about 20 -30 blocks from here.  It’s insane loud, but I’m glad we have those kinds of warning systems in place.  So we have this tornado warning for about another 30 minutes and then we’re all set.

I’ve been finally putting quite a few knife reviews up on YouTube.  I am just using my Nikon Coolpix 4100 to take the movies and they are kinda grainy so I would like to get a web cam for my computer to do the reviews with.  I’m not sure what to get yet but I’m just glad to be putting some reviews and stuff up on “The Tube”.

I’m just sitting here in a nice quiet house with our cute cats and relaxing.  I’m thankful to God that it’s been such a good weekend.  He has really taken care of us for a long long time and I do appreciate it greatly.  I cannot thank Him enough.

Thinking of getting a Spyderco Dragonfly in White FRN since it’s a Sprint Run and has a VG-10 blade and there will only be 1200 white ones made.  I think that even though white seems like it’s not a good choice for a knife handle that it’s very cool.  I think most people (myself included) think that white would get dirty so easily and be hard to clean.  I have read however that it’s not hard to clean and just like the yellow and orange FRN Spyderco knives that they don’t get dirty like you think they would.  FRN is just amazing stuff.

I’m 5000 (for those of you that know what this means….props to you). 🙂
