People have become even bigger idiots than they used to be. I enjoy having a smartphone but I don’t use it in my car. What the fuck is with people and their fixation of having to dick with the phone all hours of the day. People sit at green traffic lights longer than ever before now. They play games on their phone while driving on the turnpike (I’ve see this first hand). I work in IT and I have to be available a lot. I don’t need to check my email in my car, or look at social media. More people are now hanging out in the left lane of the expressway. Some don’t even do the speed limit. What the fuck? Drive your damn car and quit fucking with other shit. Pay attention so other people don’t die at your hands or because you were intrenched in your phone.
I love to drive. I drive 70 miles a day and have for 16 years now. I don’t mind it. I have heard people in their twenties say “I’m scared of driving”. What has happened to people? Is everyone a big pussy now? It seems like over the last 10 years I have watched people turn into space cadets. They can’t make choices on their own, they can’t drive, they can barely walk without looking at the phone.
People can’t even merge anymore. Every single day I am behind someone getting on the expressway or the turnpike that thinks they can safely merge into traffic while they are going 40MPH. The speed limit is 65 and 70. You can’t merge into a highway going 40 without creating all kinds of problems. Not only do they create problems for the traffic already on the highway, but they also screw the people behind them. Idiots.
PLEASE, TAKE DRIVING SERIOUSLY. PEOPLE DIE DAILY BECAUSE SOMEONE ELSE WASN’T PAYING ATTENTION.
Put the device down. Keep your head on a swivel. Stay aware of your surroundings. Don’t be a rude assbag. Don’t tailgate. Use your turn signals. Only use the left lane to pass. Don’t speed up when someone tries to pass. Use cruise control! There are other people around you walking, or driving that have things to do and don’t want to die because you were not paying attention.
I just thought I would share this since I can, and my blog gets a decent amount of hits daily.
I took my car to Mike Pruitt Honda for service right before Christmas 2010. I asked that they please check the tire pressure as I was losing air in two of my tires regularly. I purposely set my tire pressure to 25 lbs. on all of my tires to see if they would really check or just write that they did on the paperwork. Sure enough, they wrote (32) for all four tires and didn’t check anything; either that or they checked and didn’t feel like airing up the tires.
The next day I called the service manager and let him know about it. He told me they would make it right. He said he would talk to the tech that did the work and that they do not regularly do this. I think it’s garbage and probably a lot of dealers do this. It’s just one more thing they can do to save time and money and force the customers to eventually buy new tires. Yet another reason to do something yourself if you want it done right.
Anyway, the service manager called me back and told me the tech had been off sick for 2 days and that he would call me back after Christmas and wouldn’t forget about me. I said OK, and figured I would never hear back from him. I didn’t.
So tonight I went to get a drivers side low beam bulb replaced and took it to Sunnyside Honda. I told them what happened at Mike Pruitt Honda (a brief version) and asked that they please make sure the tires all had 32 lbs. in each. Everyone in the service department there looked like “oh shit someone caught us”. No joke. I mean the employees and not the other customers. I now had a feeling that this is something that is known that most dealers do but nobody says anything about.
So for the readers of this blog, or Mike Pruitt Honda customers, you might want to double check next time the dealer says they did this or that.
Tonight Sunnyside Honda did actually make sure my tires all had 32 lbs. in them. I checked right outside the dealership.
I actually hope someone from a Honda service department reads this and actually has something to say about it. Honda has been good to me for the most part but I can just never get past the feeling of the big company always screwing the little guy.
I’m sitting in a service department at a local Honda dealer getting my car serviced. It’s snowing like mad outside ad we are supposed to get about 4 inches of snow tonight. Maybe another 4-12 inches tomorrow too.
I’m very thankful to have the job that I have, the family that I have, and the nice safe car I am able to drive.
I just put new wipers on both my car and my wife’s car. I decided to try the new beam style wipers instead of the old style. I figure it’s 2010 why use the same wipers that crud up with ice that we’ve been using for the last 20+ years. We’ll see how they work out.
That’s it for now. Peace….
Tonight (well actually tomorrow at 14:05 GMT) there is a full moon. You can always tell; at least around here you can. Everybody seems to be on edge, the hospital Emergency Departments get full with crazy stuff, and people behave like huge asses. It never seems to fail. Every time I’m having a crap day or people are being asses I check the moon calendar and find out it’s within a day or two of a full moon, or it’s a full moon on that day. I mean damn. People need to chill back and quit being in a fucking hurry all the time and shit. Fuck me.
Energy drinks. They suck. They cost too much money. They are a fucking scam. They are not good for your heart, or body, and all they do is sugar your ass up and then let you down about 4 hours later. And no…….I’m not a salesman for “5 hour energy” That shit sucks too. How about this, don’t drink goofy shit. Drink some green tea, or have a soda every now and then. Moderation. Done deal.
My 2007 Honda Accord: It kicks ass. I’ve got 38,540 miles on it so far and it’s been flawless. By the time I had 36,000 miles on the 2001 Ford Taurus I had before that it was in the shop about 3 – 4 times already. And not for regular shit. Stupid bullshit that thankfully was covered by my warranty. Plus….the V6 SE model that I have has some good horsepower for a family sedan (240hp). She’s niiiice!
I have about 5 knives that need sharpened. Some are mine, some are knives that people sent me to sharpen. I do it as a hobby but I’m damn good at it. I can get a butter knife to shave hair off your arm, leg or whatever else you want to shave.
Don’t forget………”Rock out with yo Glock out!”.
First let me start off by saying that not ALL truck drivers are assholes. Just like not all people driving four wheelers (cars) are assholes.
So, tonight on my way home from work I’m rolling 70 MPH on cruise control in the center lane of the turnpike. When this asshole rig gets up on my rear bumper. And I usually don’t care because they do that sometimes. However this guy was super close and was doing it on purpose. He wasn’t like a car length off my bumper, not 6 feet, but about 14 inches. Asshole. I saw this same guy doing this to other cars in the right lane about 3 miles back.
Here’s the problem. Now that the speed limit for rigs is up to 65 in Ohio just like the cars, they wanna roll hard all the time. So if I’m in the right lane they always go around me (mind you even if I’m doing 70 on cruise). I try to run the center lane that way the rigs can roll past me in the right lane if they want. If there is some slow poke fucker in the right lane (car) I can’t help it and I’m certainly not going to be switching lanes all the time if the rigs want to go 80 in a 65. Fuck ’em.
I never had this problem when the speed limit for rigs was 55. I would roll the center lane and they would roll the right lane and only come into center to pass here and there. Now at least 50% or more of the rigs are always climbing peoples asses and getting really close and using the jake brake (engine brake) etc. This guy was swerving all around and just being a jerk. It’s not like I was trying to do a damn thing to him. He was carring all kinds of steel pipe on a flatbed and driving like he had no load. What a moron.
I understand that there are a good amount of people driving cars that cause a boatload of accidents for truckers. I know this and I can’t stand those people either. It just really burns me up when truck drivers do this shit. I mean fuck…..calm down a bit, slow down and chill out.
Usually I do my part to let rigs over when needed and I am always looking way up ahead to see if I see one entering the turnpike from a rest area or something and I get over to let the rigs in the right lane move into the center to let the other rig on. We all need to help out, that’s a given.
What doesn’t help is when you get these jackass truck drivers who feel the need to drive 90 just so they can get up the next hill so they treat all the car drivers like dirt. It just makes me want to not give a crap anymore about the truckers. And bitterness and asshole driving will just breed more of the same thing.
Man….people need to take fucking chill pills and slow down a little. I’m not talking drive like a grandma in the right lane doing 55, but fuck. You know what I mean, and you know who you are.
Yeah, what happened to white wall tires? I know they have been not on cars for the most part for a long time. I however saw a nice Buick with white walls and then started looking at all the other cars. Just booring black wall tires. No raised white letters (RWL) or white walls. Just booring black wall tires.
Now I understand that some of the tires these days are 50 series or smaller and that doesn’t leave a whole lot of room for the white wall to fit.
I think white wall tires look elegant on some cars (think Buick Lucerne here) but look like crap on others.
Heck why doesn’t anyone put raised white letter tires on their cars? They look neat with the letters spinning around as you’re driving.
Who knows, maybe I’m showing my age, but I still think that we should have white wall tires, and raised white letter tires as OEM on certain factory cars.
My $.02 🙂

If you don’t like road noise don’t buy a house next to a busy road. It’s really that easy. Yeah….really it is!!!!
