Why I carry a pocket knife every day
This was taken from a thread on www.bladeforums.com . It is been so long that I do not remember who said it. Anyway, it is a good summary on why I carry a pocket knife daily. I am not sure how folks get along without one.
“My good reason to carry a knife is that God gave me rather weak teeth and rudimentary claws in an evolutionary trade-off. The hairy-armed person who figured out how to put an edge on a suitable rock made it possible for us to be recognizably human in the first place. I wear a wristwatch whether or not I have an appointment to keep, and I carry a pen and/or pencil because I am a literate person whether or not I have a specific writing task ahead of me, and I carry a knife because I am a human and not an ape.
A knife comes in handy for all sorts of random tasks that involve separating matter. Like cutting a string, or making a sandwich, or opening a package. It can also come in handy in an emergency, which need not involve a human assailant, and emergencies are by their nature unforeseen, so one should carry a knife all the time.
And in a perfect world where nobody needed a weapon, I’d probably carry a slightly larger knife, because it wouldn’t scare people.”

Idiots with saggy pants
About time…
(Idiots with saggy pants) <—————–clicky clicky
I’m so tired of seeing these slacker kids walking around with their pants hanging off their ass and their boxer shorts showing. It’s funny, I once saw a kid wearing his pants like this and they fell down to his knee area and he tripped and fell forward like a fool.
Guess what? Pants go at your waist. Your waist is about 2 inches below your belly button. Pants do not go on your ass. If you want to go wearing your pants on your ass instead of on your waist please do so at home. Nobody wants to see your ugly ass underwear.
Also, put your freakin’ hat on straight. Wearing a hat crooked makes you look like a jackass.
Grow up, and dress like a man and not a punk ass kid from the hood.
You’ll get a lot more respect like that, and you’ll look like you know how to get dressed in the morning.
Do you have to copy everything that people do in music videos on MTV?

Hmm….maybe this guy should be dragged behind a car.
What a jerk. This guy should be punished by being dragged behind someone elses car for about 10 blocks.
Why people abuse animals is beyond me. Like the dog did anything wrong. This guy needs a good butt kicking.

My 2001 Ford Taurus Sucks!
I have a 2001 Ford Taurus. It now has 108,000 miles on it. I have had this thing in the shop more than any other car I have owned. My wife has a 1996 Honda Accord with 120,000 miles on it and it is in the shop less. I make my last payment on this car in 2 weeks. I have absolutely had it with American car companies. I will not be buying another vehicle from GM, Ford, or Chrysler. My next car will be a Honda, Toyota, or Nissan.
I cannot even begin to go over what I have had to have replaced on the car. It’s too much for me to remember. Off the top of my head so far in 5 years I have had to replace the following items.
-Gas Tank
-Water Pump
-Battery
-Windshield wiper lines to the hood
-Fuel Pump
-Fuel Injectors
-EGR Valve
-Fuel Sending Unit
…..and on….and on…..and on…..
About a month ago I noticed my A/C would work for about 20 minutes and then start getting warm. If I turned off the A/C and then turned it back on 5 minutes later it would work for another 20-30 minutes. I can live with this. About 2 weeks ago I noticed that my outside electric mirrors no longer work. Tonight on the way home I noticed that my power steering pump is making noise. I pop the hood when I get home and check the fluid, and it’s fine. I check it again after it cools down, and it’s still fine. Now however the hood will not close. I clean the lock and lube it all up and low and behold I find a broken spring lying on top of the frontal crash sensor. Great. So now I get to drive to work tomorrow with my hood latched with the safety latch but not locked. I’m going to wire it shut later tonight probably for safe measure. My drive is 45 minutes and is 65MPH most of the way.
I realize I have it better off than most people and even way better than people in other countries. That’s not the point. The point is that this is the last straw. I will not keep putting money in the pockets of the American car companies and the UAW. Those union fools make too much money anyway.
I’m about —–> <—— this close to just saying “screw it” and trading the shit heap in and buying a new car. Before winter I would have to put 4 new tires on the car and I don’t want to waste any more money on this thing.
Oh well, lesson learned.
Unfortunately for Ford, GM, and Chrysler millions of people have learned the same lesson as I and will no longer buy from them.
